Narrative - Linear & Non-Linear

Linear is a straight forward narrative that starts with a beginning then goes through the middle and reaches the end without strain from the story. A example of a narrative linear TV series could be a soap called Emmerdale. In this soap they follow a narrative linear because it moves from one story to an other based on specific characters in Emmerdale. But no matter what they still follow a straight forward narrative. Non-Linear is a story where the beginning, middle or end might not be clear. Non-Linear narrative's also make a bigger mystery within the TV series because it can show something from the start such as a flashback as an example. They can do this because they do not have to follow the same portrayed events all the time. In my opinion I find Non-Linear TV series more interesting and intensifying because it doesn't follow a straight forward narrative so on the other hand Non-Linear TV series can confuse people and I think that is good because it makes it more interesting.
